Project Overview

The client needed a home that was not only more refined, but easier to live in day to day. Long stair runs created a practical challenge, while the existing finish and material quality fell short of what the building deserved.

They also brought a clear sense of personal taste to the project, with distinctive preferences around colour, materials, furnishings and finish. The brief was to turn the existing property into a usable, comfortable and fully resolved home — with improved access, carefully considered storage, upgraded kitchen and bathroom spaces, dedicated home offices, and a more coherent overall interior.

Set within a landmark converted military hospital, this project involved the complete internal renewal and landscape refinement of a home that felt unfinished and under-resolved.

The Approach

The project was approached as a complete environment rather than a sequence of separate improvements. Access, comfort, storage, decoration, window treatments, furniture placement and external areas were considered together, allowing the home to feel settled rather than pieced together.

Material and furnishing choices were guided by the client’s characterful preferences, then carefully balanced through proportion, placement and detailing. This allowed the home to retain personality while still feeling practical, coherent and properly resolved.
